118- For the Love of Collage Exhibition

Currently on view down at Blue Star space 136 is a group exhibition.

I was asked to exhibit and created 2 collages.

117- Society6 shop is now closed

Rec'd an email from Society6 today:

We hope this message finds you well. As Society6 continues to evolve, we are making strategic changes to our marketplace structure to better align with current market dynamics and customer preferences. While our community has grown to include over 400,000 artists and an incredibly diverse catalog, we've decided to operate as a more focused brand with a smaller group of artists.

Regrettably, after careful consideration of various factors including market trends and customer needs, we have decided your account will not be included in the curated group of artists moving forward starting March 18th, 2025.

So I closed up shop, and removed links from Instagram, Facebook, and my website. 

I knew this day was coming when in October 2023 they moved to a paid tiers sort of subscription. I moved my drawings and collages to RedBubble, and left my 'Black and Blue Period' on Society6. BDSM/Fetish work really isn't something that is trendy and I had no sales since I moved the other pieces from Society6.

It was a good 7 1/2 year run.

I'll probably put the pieces I had on S6 to RB later this week. ;)

116 Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

The 2 previous posts have drawings that will be on display for First Friday November 1st down at Blue Star, space 136C next to Slab Cinema.

115- Mystical Beasts and Humanoids

I just completed 20 drawings that were based on clever packaging for beef jerky. The jerky is marketed for people who are hard to buy gifts for. They named the jerky after mystical beasts and humanoids. Some were just beef, but others were exotic meats: bison, ostrich, alligator etc.

I decided a series needed to be created from the names, and thus Mystical Beasts and Humanoids drawing series was born.

114- Explorer or Invader?

Last year I started on a series based on explorers or invaders depending on your point of view.

I wanted to do something that I had not seen before, so I created concert posters for their exploratory campaigns aka 'tours'.
